Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial
Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial was established to honor those who fought in the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812 and to celebrate the long-lasting peace between Britain, Canada, and the U.S. The memorial, a Doric column, rising 352 ft. over Lake Erie is situated five miles from the longest undefended border in the world. Stop in the visitor's center featuring displays, a video theater, and gift shop. There will be no observation deck tours in 2017, but the grounds and Visitor Center will be open: May 20-Sept 11 daily 10 am-6 pm; Sept 12-Oct 9 daily 10 am-5 pm; Oct 14-23 Fri-Mon 10 am-5 pm.
